Here at Goldgasse no. 10 in a 700 year old house, you will find Salzburg's culinary insider's tip, Gasthof Goldgasse. Some say we are a cozy restaurant. Others say we are an upscale inn. Salzburg cuisine at its best

Seasonal, regional, and of the highest quality. We pamper you with the classics. Some of them are available throughout the entire year such as the famous chicken fried in a copper pot. The corn-fed chicken that we use comes from the best farms and is prepared according to a Baroque recipe. Tender and irresistibly tempting! Or there is the legendary Salzburger Nockerln, a sweet, fluffy treat. It melts in your mouth - just as it should. With our head chef's interpretation, he serves it with sensational, homemade vanilla ice cream and berries. An absolute highlight! We are also well-known for our Goldgasse crêpes, which are prepared right in front of you. These are a refined delicacy that are served with chocolate sorbet, delicious strawberries, or juicy apricots to create an incomparable harmony. Our chef customizes these variations according to the seasonal offer of Mother Nature. Along with our classics, we also offer daily specials fresh from the farmers, and awaiting you on the weekend is a traditional "Bratl in der Rein" (roast) unless our chef discovers another delicacy at the weekly market…

The tasteful side of traditions

Even though we skillfully bridge the gap with a modern interpretation, very traditional recipes are often used in our kitchen. More specifically, these recipes are from 1719 from the original cookbook "Konrad Hagger – Neue Salzburger Küche". A genuine historical document of cuisine. Richly illustrated Baroque recipes and skilled, artistic representations of the dishes not only embellish this valuable, antique cookbook but also adorn our walls in the guest lounge. This goes perfectly with the light wood paneling on the walls and the floorboards made of hand-cut oak and creates a wonderful ambiance. Sophisticated, cozy, authentic – this is Gasthof Goldgasse.
