At the Gasthof Goldgasse in Salzburg, traditional Austrian cuisine is combined with modern accents. Many dishes are based on historical recipes from 1719 from the original cookbook “Konrad Hagger – Neue Salzburger Küche”. The result is a cuisine that fits in perfectly with Salzburg’s old town: regional, artisanal and closely linked to the history of the hotel.
The richly illustrated baroque cookbooks and artistic depictions of the dishes also adorn the walls of the restaurant.

Salzburg specialties at Gasthof Goldgasse
The menu features seasonal and regional specialties as well as Austrian classics. Gasthof Goldgasse is famous for its fried chicken in a copper pot, which is prepared according to a baroque recipe, and for Salzburger Nockerl dumplings with homemade vanilla ice cream and berry topping.
The Goldgasse crêpes are also one of the house specialties. They are prepared directly in front of the guests on the copper flambé trolley. The menu is complemented by a daily changing dish of the day, which is often inspired by fresh ingredients from the farmers’ market.

What a beautiful place! The appetizers were a dream, my saddle of venison was perfect, and the beef fillet blew us away – a very thick cut and cooked to absolute perfection. Rarely have we dined so well.
