Even though our inn skillfully bridges the gap to the present with modern interpretations, our kitchen often uses very traditional recipes. More precisely, from the year 1719, as they come from the original cookbook “Konrad Hagger – Neue Salzburger Küche”. A true document of culinary history.
Richly illustrated Baroque recipes and artful depictions of dishes adorn not only the valuable antique cookbook but also the walls of our dining room.

Seasonal, regional specialties of the highest quality await you at Gasthof Goldgasse. We serve classics that inspire – such as the city-famous fried chicken in a copper pot, prepared according to a baroque recipe, or the legendary Salzburger Nockerln, light and airy with homemade vanilla ice cream and fruity berry topping. A special highlight are our Goldgasse crêpes, which are prepared right in front of your eyes on the copper flambé trolley.
In addition to these beloved classics, our head chef surprises guests daily with a fresh dish of the day, often inspired by ingredients sourced directly from the farmer’s market.

What a beautiful place! The appetizers were a dream, my saddle of venison was perfect, and the beef fillet blew us away – a very thick cut and cooked to absolute perfection. Rarely have we dined so well.
